NWHSU welcomed hundreds for 2018 Health and Wellness Symposium

NWHSU | March 26, 2018

Around 400 acupuncturists, Chinese medicine practitioners and massage therapists gathered on campus for continuing education, networking and a celebration.

Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) welcomed around 400 health and wellness providers from across the country for the 2018 Health and Wellness Symposium, March 22-25. An annual gathering of professionals practicing acupuncture, massage therapy and Chinese medicine, the symposium emphasizes integrative health care while highlighting timely topics such as stress and anxiety, chronic pain, and research.

Upwards of 100 attendees were NWHSU alumni, graduates of our acupuncture and Chinese medicine program and our massage therapy program. To honor their graduation anniversaries, alumni celebrating their five, 10, 15 or 20-year milestones received a special recognition pin.

The event serves as an opportunity for providers to complete continuing education credits that keep them current with the latest approaches in their fields. Some of the sessions and events include hands-on workshops and demonstrations, joint lectures on topics related to integrated health care, and resources to help providers run their practices.

Standard Process sponsored last Saturday evening’s reception, a tiki party complete with Jamaican steel drums, delicious food and a beach-themed photo booth experience.
